Senior Trainer

With more than ten years of dedicated association with KSC, Supriya's passion lies in working with younger children, getting them interested in learning chess. Being trained in Montessori teaching methods, her work experience has helped interacting with diverse age groups of children.Additionally her involvement in organizing chess tournaments has added another dimension to her chess coaching journey.

HEMANTH B

Senior Trainer

He has played in number of state and national level tournaments and won distinction. He has represented Bangalore University in the All India Inter-University Chess Championship and achieved a fide rating of 1778 in the maiden tournament. He has excellent track record in training & nourishing young minds. His students continuous to perform well in state level tournaments. Being an Engineering graduate from a strong business background he continuous to be successful businessman by profession and continuous to have great interest and passion for the game of chess.

Raghavendra V

Founder Karnataka School of Chess

He is a analyst by profession focusing on Indian capital markets and continues to be a successful trader in various asset classes from equities to derivatives. Trade management requires as much of strategizing as in chess and he has been successfully managing the “bulls and bears” of the equity markets just as the “white and black” pieces in chess.

He has trained over 5000 students with age group of 6 years to 15 years. The students vary from Intermediate to advance level and performed exceedingly well in state and national level tournaments. Unique training methods are followed for getting better results in tournaments. The students achieve Fide rating in quick time and many students are playing professional chess. On the high note his students have become National champions and gold medalist in commonwealth championship.

He is currently the vice president in Karnataka state chess association and plays a key role in formulating objectives and guidelines across the state. He takes active role in managing the affairs of chess association. He has played a leading role in making the state association financially stronger, more transparent and player friendly.

On his playing days he was a consistent state level player in Karnataka. Reached career best ranking of No 3 of Karnataka in the year 2008. He has achieved a highest International Fide Rating of 2145. Played tournaments across India for over ten years. He has beaten top players like Grand Masters Arkadi Eremeevich Vul (Russia), Sriram Jha, Arun Prasad & International Masters Srinath, Muralikrishnan, Women Grandmaster Kruttika Nadig.and drawn many notable players like Praveen Thipsay, RR.Laxman, SR.Chowdhury Saravanan, Sudhakar Babu, Ravi Hegde & Balasubramanium

Arvind Shastry, Director

Arvind is a highly respected player from Karnataka and also General Secretary United Karnataka Chess Association.He Has won numerous state level tournaments across Karnataka. He has two state championship titles to his kitty, qualified twice to National premier championship. He is the current state blitz champion.

He has attained a highest International Rating of 2351.

He has beaten top players like RB.Ramesh, Kidambi, Ratnakaran, GB.Prakash, Sriram Jha & drawn many notable players like Abhijit Kunte, SS Ganguly, RR Laxman, Lanka Ravi, SR.Chowdhury etc.
